How NVIDIA’s AI Compute Financing Push and Blupine Deal Interest Could Impact Blackstone (BX) Investors

Blackstone’s NVIDIA partnership and reported interest in acquiring Blupine Energy strengthen its exposure to AI infrastructure and energy-transition assets, while fundraising, realizations, interest rates, deal flow, leverage and dividend coverage remain key risks.

Blackstone is positioning itself at the intersection of artificial-intelligence infrastructure and the energy transition as investors assess whether those opportunities can produce durable fee income. In August 2026, NVIDIA announced partnerships with Blackstone, Apollo, BlackRock, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to create compute-financing platforms that could mobilize more than US$500 billion of third-party capital for AI infrastructure across NVIDIA’s ecosystem. Final agreements still need to be executed. Separately, Blackstone was reportedly among global investors evaluating a potential US$1.50 billion to US$2.00 billion acquisition of Indian renewables platform Blupine Energy from Actis. Together, the developments reinforce Blackstone’s interest in large-scale digital infrastructure and energy-transition assets. The investment case remains dependent on converting large inflows and its broad alternatives platform into sustained fee growth despite market and regulatory uncertainty. The NVIDIA arrangement could deepen Blackstone’s role in AI infrastructure financing and complements existing commitments to data centers, private credit and private wealth. However, near-term risks remain material. Choppy markets and geopolitics could delay realizations and fundraising, pressuring earnings and distributions. Higher interest rates and slower deal flow could weigh on activity, while questions about debt levels, dividend coverage and market volatility remain unresolved. Blackstone’s narrative projects US$22.5 billion of revenue and US$9.8 billion of earnings by 2029. Achieving that outlook requires 16.1% annual revenue growth and a US$6.7 billion increase in earnings from US$3.1 billion today. The analysis indicates fair value of US$143.45, in line with the current price.
