Cloudflare Adds AEO Visibility Dashboard to Its AEO Suite, Showing Brands Whether AI Assistants Are Recommending Them

Cloudflare introduced the AEO Visibility Dashboard as an early access addition to its AEO Suite, giving brands network-level data on citation, mention, prominence and share of voice across AI assistants while extending its push into AI-era web discovery tools.

Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET) has added a new product to its Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, Suite with the release of the AEO Visibility Dashboard, a tool designed to show website owners whether AI assistants are recommending their business when users ask relevant questions. The company announced the launch on August 06, 2026, describing the new dashboard as a way to make visible something that has largely been hidden from site owners. According to Cloudflare, brands have been dealing with a growing consumer shift toward AI assistants as a discovery channel, but they have lacked a practical equivalent to traditional search ranking data. If a user asked an AI system for a recommendation and received a result, the brand being discussed often had no way of knowing whether it had been recommended, only mentioned briefly, or omitted altogether. Cloudflare said the AEO Visibility Dashboard is now the newest component of its AEO Suite and works alongside Agent Readiness, the existing tool in the suite. Agent Readiness is intended to determine whether AI agents can locate and read a site in the first place. The combined offering is meant to give marketers both a view of whether AI systems can access their content and whether those systems are actually surfacing that content in answers. The company argued that many competing tools rely mainly on test prompts sent to AI chatbots and sampled responses, an approach it described as limited in scale and prone to inconsistency unless supported by other data signals. Cloudflare positioned its own approach differently, saying that because it operates at the network layer between AI platforms and the websites they access, it can observe actual crawl and referral activity directly across millions of sites. In Cloudflare’s framing, those signals produce deeper and more transparent insights than test-prompt sampling on its own. Stephanie Cohen, Chief Strategy Officer at Cloudflare, said the environment has changed materially for brands. She said discoverability previously meant ranking on a page, but that standard no longer captures how consumers now find businesses. She also said the agentic era is already operating at scale and that moments such as a person asking an AI for a recommendation are happening invisibly for most brands unless they have access to the underlying signals. Cohen emphasized that Cloudflare sees real crawl activity and real referrals across millions of sites, and said the company’s tools are built to answer the question of how and where a brand is showing up. Cloudflare said the AEO Suite is built around a core principle that site owners should have both visibility into how their content is used and control over what they choose to share. It said this foundation applies whether a content owner wants to protect and monetize content or instead maximize discovery in what it called the agentic era. The company said the suite is intended to serve those interests on the site owner’s terms. The new AEO Visibility Dashboard is designed to provide several specific measurements. Citation Rate shows which AI platforms are using a brand’s site as a trusted source and which are not. Mention Rate indicates whether AI assistants are naming a brand even when they do not cite that brand’s site, a distinction Cloudflare said can show whether the issue is authority rather than awareness. Prominence measures how much of an AI-generated answer is attributed to a brand and where that attribution appears in the response, recognizing that a brief reference at the end of a long answer is not the same as a strong recommendation. Share of Voice compares how a brand performs against competitors across the particular questions customers are asking AI assistants and whether that position is strengthening or weakening over time. Agent Readiness remains the entry point for determining whether AI systems can access a brand’s site. Cloudflare said that tool checks whether an AI agent has permission to crawl a site, whether a sitemap exists for navigation, whether the content is available in a structured format that agents can read, and for more advanced use cases, whether there are interfaces the agents can call directly. The AEO Visibility Dashboard then focuses on the next step by measuring whether, once agents can reach the site, they are actually recommending it. Cloudflare said the AEO Visibility Dashboard is available in early access today, and businesses can request access from the Overview tab in the Cloudflare dashboard. Agent Readiness is available in the same location. The company also pointed users to its blog post titled From ranking to recommended: get your site ready to thrive in the age of AI agents. In the broader company description included with the announcement, Cloudflare said it is the leading connectivity cloud company and that its platform helps organizations make employees, applications and networks faster and more secure everywhere while reducing complexity and cost. It also said its connectivity cloud provides a unified platform of cloud-native products and developer tools and is powered by one of the world’s largest and most interconnected networks, which blocks billions of threats online for customers every day. Cloudflare said it serves millions of organizations, ranging from large brands to entrepreneurs, small businesses, nonprofits, humanitarian groups and governments around the world. The release also included forward-looking statements language, noting that the announcement contains statements involving substantial risks and uncertainties. It said such statements may concern expectations, strategy, plans or intentions and may be identified by terms such as may, will, should, expects, explores, plans, anticipates, could, intends, targets, projects, contemplates, believes, estimates, predicts, potential or continues, as well as related negative forms or similar expressions.
